Version IV of The SpLaVCe Ship (8-section sculpture, 72" x 42" x 24" each, steel, wood, bamboo, and concrete), exhibited at Calder Plaza in Grand Rapids, Fall, 2023. The first version of The SpLaVCe Ship was part of a solo exhibition at the Barry Whistler Gallery, Dallas in September, 2022 and a second installation at the Studios at Crowley Theater for the 2023 Marfa Invitational. A third version of the ship is on view at the ION residency, downtown Houston. It incorporates elements not previously used in earlier versions, such as laser etched canvases and bamboo rods that form fish traps/star catchers to power the ship.
